In memory of

楊李本意夫人Brenda Poon Yee Yeung

September 25, 1949 -  July 18, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Poon Yee Yeung announces her passing on July 18, 2020. She passed with her three children by her side. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her children, Horatio Yeung, Vivian Yeung and Melissa Yeung, her son-in-laws, Anthony Pua and Kevin Cheung, and her grandson, Jayden Pua. Her husband, Nelson Kin-Shing Yeung, predeceased her in 2017.

Brenda was a wonderful wife, amazing daughter, loyal sister and the most nurturing and loving mother. She leaves behind beautiful memories of her caring for anyone she met and is a warm soul that always put others' considerations and comfort first. She cared deeply about her family, not out of obligation, but because of who she was.

Due to the current health crisis, a private family service will be held for Brenda on July 28, 2020. Funeral arrangements are entrusted at York Funeral Centre and Cemetery (416-221-3404). If you would like to send flowers, they can be sent to York Funeral Centre by July 27th at 4pm. While the family grieves her loss, they are choosing to continue her legacy by donating to help cancer research. The family asks for donations to be made to Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Brenda Poon Yee Yeung at the following website:

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved mother. While I did not know your mother, I feel she must have been a beautiful person given the way she raised her wonderful daughter Melissa. I wish you moments of peace and comfort.

I'm so sorry for your loss Mel. Your mom sounds like a truly amazing person. Sending you my deepest condolences to you and your family, Melissa. When my grandma passed away, a friend gave me these words and I found comfort in them. "The dead are never from far us. They're in our hearts and on our minds. And in the end all that separates us from them is a single breath of air." Sending you all our love and prayers.
