Brenda Jean Oakes Heninger

Heninger, Brenda Jean (Oakes Jenkins) passed over on September 1, 2018. She was born in Toronto on April 1, 1938 to the late Edward and Beulah ( nee Pearce) Oakes.
Family was always Brenda's top priority and she loved her "Girls" and her grandchildren with all her heart.
They were truly her pride and joy. Though her life was not always and easy one. Brenda was dedicated to raising her two daughters, and worked tirelessly, often seven days a week, to ensure that they would never want.
A long time employee of the former North York Board of Education, Brenda is fondly remembered by her students and co-workers as a caring woman, with a great sense of fun.
In her retirement, Brenda enjoyed going for walks on the beach at her winter home in Florida. Her other passion was shopping. She loved a good bargain and proudly showed off her latest finds.
But, most of all, Brenda wanted nothing more than to be around the people who loved her and were happy to see her. She had a sweet spirit and her family adored her. She made certain that they always felt her love in return. Brenda, along with her sister, Joan were the matriarchs of the family. They took great pleasure in hosting extended family gatherings creating many cherished memories for her children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Becky Jenkins ( Steven Toepell); April Peel ( John), her five grandchildren: Amy Bokma ( Luke), David Peek ( Emma), Jeffrey Peek (Emily), Avery Toepell and Elena Toepell; and her two great-grandchildren, Carter and Lindsay Bokma. She was the Cherished sister of the late Joan Bennett and special aunt to Joan's children, Ed, Bobbi and the late, Julie, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephew.
In her final years, Brenda was slowly taken from her loved ones by Alzheimer's, but countless memories of the love and laughter that she made her family will live with them forever.
