Bohdan Lezynski

Bohdan Lezynski on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 6:53 p.m. he went to be with the Lord. In his 82 nd year, Bohdan passed away at the Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Bohdan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Zofia Lezynska, daughters Ewa Lezynska and Anna Chrzaniecki, grandchildren Kasia and Misio Grabowski, and Adam, Annette, Laura Chrzaniecki, and sister Luba Sniezko. Bohdan was predeceased by sisters Teodora Wachna, Olga Nahorny and Stefania Shapiro, and parents Kuzma and Anna Lezynski.

Bohdan was born on January 29, 1935 in Brunary Nizne, the Lemko (Ukraninian) settlement in Poland in the Bieszczady Mountains region. Most of his youth Bohdan spent in Wroclaw, Poland. After graduating from a technical school in the electrical engineering field he joined the Polish Navy for three years where he served as a sailor and a telegraph operator, later advancing to the rank of Petty Officer II. It was in Wroclaw that Bohdan met Zofia whom he married in 1964. After working for Herbapol in Wroclaw, LPBP, an industrial building company in Lubin and Elpo as a Chief Electrical Engineer he emigrated to Canada in 1981.

As new immigrants Bohdan and his wife Zofia worked hard to support the family of two teenage daughters. But shortly found employment at the Copernicus Lodge where he joined the Maintenance team. Bohdan worked at the Copernicus Lodge until his retirement in 2000. As a true Highlander and a sailor, Bohdan loved the outdoors often trekking and traveling throughout Europe's Carpatian and Balkan Mountains as well as the Baltic and the Black Seas with his wife and daughters. He enjoyed good food and sitting on he beach in Florida with a beer and swimming in the ocean.

Among his hobbies, Bohdan enjoyed playing chess, bridge and board games with his daughters, friends and was passionate about tinkering with many improvement projects. As a science minded person he had many inventions on the go with seven of them ending up as a patent inventions in Poland. He took great pride in his family and loved spending time with the grandchildren as well as his many nieces. Bohdan left his family in deep sorrow and he will be missed his wife, daughters, grandchildren, cousins and many friends.

A mass for Bohdan Lezynski will be held in St Eugene De Mazenod Church located at 1252 Steeles Ave W, Brampton, ON L6Y 0A9 on Wednesday September 27th at 10:00am.

The funeral service will be held in Meadowvale Cemetery located at 7732 Mavis Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5M1 on Wednesday September 27th at 11:00am.

Followed by the funeral, there will be a brunch at Millennium Gardens located at 20 Polonia Ave #100, Brampton, ON L6Y 0K7 at approximately 12:00pm.

For those who cannot attend the funeral service, there will be a viewing from 6-9 p.m. with Prayers / Rozaniec at 8 p.m. on Tuesday September 26th 2017 located in Meadowvale Cemetery at 7732 Mavis Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5M1.
