In memory of

Bo Siu Chow 周司徒寳笑夫人仙遊

December 12, 1931 -  February 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Bo Siu Chow (nee Seto), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on December 12, 1931, in Canton, Hoiping, China. Her parents were Yau Bak Seto and Fung Mei Wu. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Bo Siu journeyed through life with grace and resilience. She, her mother and sisters had to hide and survive when the Japanese invaded in China in 1937 when she was just 6 years old. She had an entrepreneurial spirit inherited from her family who had many business enterprises in China. Her mother would often chastise her for going off without permission to the market with the servants to sell goods for profit. She later married her husband, Mr. Kau Hing Chow, in Hoiping of Kwangtung, China in February 1949. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kau Hing Chow, and her two sisters, Miriyam and Kam Siu.
In pursuit of new opportunities, Bo Siu and her family moved to Hong Kong in 1950 and later, in 1967, she made Canada her home. Family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she poured her heart into nurturing her five children: Leon (Olivia) Chow, Keith (Jane) Chow, Robert (Carolyn) Chow, Kit Ching (Harry) Woo, and Kit Han (Osman) Ismail. Her legacy lives on through her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
Mrs. Chow dedicated over 18 years of her life to Canada Post, where she served diligently. Beyond her professional endeavours, she found solace and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in expressing her creativity through cooking, and tending to her garden, where she found tranquility amidst her herbs and vegetables. She was an excellent seamstress and cancer survivor.
Services to honor and celebrate Bo Siu’s remarkable life will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Home at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 8, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Mrs. Chow's resilient spirit and generous heart.
Though she may have left this world, Bo Siu’s legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her lifetime.
