In memory of

Betty Jane Tierney

November 21, 1941 -  May 5, 2020

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our dear, wife , mother, grandmother and sister, Betty Jane Tierney. at the Ajax Pickering Hospital on May 5th, 2020. Born in St. Catharines in 1941, Betty moved to Toronto in the early 1960's where she worked briefly in the fashion industry. After short stints in Windsor and Montreal she returned to Toronto and in 1972 married the love of her life, Don. She has three children, Tanya (Rick), Pascale (Bill), and Nicole (Ian) and nine grandchildren, Ava, Hudson, Sage, Summer, Carter, Kyah, Broden, Colton and Jack.
Betty had wide and varied interests. Before her MS diagnosis, she played volleyball, ice skated, hiked, skied, swam and jogged. She enjoyed crafts and artwork. She was a good artist and worked both in charcoal and oil. She did crotchet and macrame.
She loved all kinds of music especially the blues. In recent years she gained an appetite for the classics and loved her trips down to Roy Thompson to listen to the TSO. She loved attending the summer waterfront concerts
Her family was paramount and family get togethers were very special for her. She enjoyed receiving visits from her children and her grandchildren.
She was a kind, caring, dear soul who got along with everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by family, friends and all those who knew her. Rest peacefully sweet lady, your struggle is over.
Donations to the Canadian MS Society on Betty's behalf would be greatly appreciated.

I was saddened to hear about Betty's passing I would like to send my deepest condolences to Don and all of her family.
Betty and I shared an apt.years ago in Toronto. She was a lovely lady, my friend and I will miss her very much. One thing in particular that we had in common was music ...50's and 60's in particular. I remember when they had the music at the Long Term Care Home where she resided Betty and I and my Mom (Babs) would sing along. Betty always new all of the words.
I will always remember her.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Tierney’s passing. I have fond, though vague, memories of the beautiful woman who lived across the street from my family in Pickering.
