In memory of

Bertha Almeida

May 2, 1928 -  February 19, 2019

On Tuesday February 19th, Bertha peacefully passed away at Northridge Nursing Home.
Predeceased by her husband Norbert to whom she was a loving and devoted wife and survived by her two sons Robert (Audrey) and Lambert (Eileen). She adored her grandchildren Kaitlynn, Alexandra and Jon Paul (Marilyn) and her great grandson Ethan.

Bertha was fortunate to live in and experience a variety of countries before settling in Canada, wherever she went she was blessed with the ability to adapt and to make friends. In her retirement she enjoyed the social activities of both the East and West End Seniors clubs where she actively participated in Bingo, Bridge and Travel. Twice a year she would also vacation with her sons and their families as well as spend winters in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Bertha enjoyed being part of a large extended family and her sons are grateful for all the loving memories that have been shared by her nephews and nieces. She always believed that if one had good health and contentment, one couldn't ask for anything more. Well she enjoyed good health until the age of 84 living independently and being active and she was content in her life, this she would say was thanks to God. So, Thank You God for all the blessings you have given to Bertha and her family and may she rest in peace united with Norbert, her parents Lucas and Mary Lobo, family and friends.

On behalf of Bertha, gratitude to the Management and Staff of Northridge's Post House for providing a loving, caring environment and affectionate care 24/7 during her final six years....God Bless You All.

Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Bertsie & Eileen, Rob & Audrey, Kaitlynn & Alexandra,

A Bertha always had a smile on her face whenever I met her, always had a joke to tell too. She is an angel watching over everyone of us and reunited with your Dad, and many others already in Heaven. I'm sure she would want us to remember the good times all of us had as kids.
She will be missed by all.
Anthony :)
