Beatrice (Dennis) Cares
August 6, 1920 -
November 2, 2023
With love and deep sadness and gratitude for a life well lived. Our dear Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma passed away to reunite with all her loved ones who had gone before her.
Loving wife of the late Eugene Cares (2004), Dear Mother of Linda (Ted), Harold (Judi), Bruce (Susan), Cathie (Larry). Loving Gram to Teddy (Lynn), Deanna (Scott), late Steve (1999), late Warren (2018), Jordan and Ashleigh, Kristy, Katie (Mike), Russell (C.A). Great Gram to Dylan, Morgan and Paige. Natalie (Devlin), Brandon and Owen, Mason, Callum and Bodhi.
Bea was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Predeceased by Lloyd (Char), Isla (Ron) and Ivan (late Beatty)
Loved by many nieces and nephews in Corunna, Sarnia and area.
Bea was very proud to have been born and raised in Sarnia Ontario. She had many memories and stories of her school days and shared them with us even into her 103rd year. Sometimes all day and all night! She met and married her high school sweetheart Eugene Cares. They were relocated to Toronto by the Imperial Oil company in the early 1950’s. They bought a house on Armour Blvd and raised their 4 children and lived there for over 50 years. Bea was a member of Armour Heights United church. She enjoyed being a volunteer for the church, schools and a member of her sorority group.
Bea was widowed in 2004. She moved to Unionville where she lived independently for 12 years. She was a very active and social member of her new residence and community. She made many friends and enjoyed her time there. She was a social bee!
Gram was one of the most resilient women. Beyond age 70, she overcame a battle with colon cancer, two broken ankles, a mild stroke, a broken wrist, a hip replacement and broken collarbone. She triumphed against all expectations in each situation.
She was simply amazing!
Gram loved to knit and crochet. Often donating her blankets to hospitals for babies. She had a love for Teddy Bears and Baby dolls, collecting them and learning how to make her own bears to give to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved watching hockey and sports, especially the Toronto Maple Leaf’s. She made many trips to watch the Blue Jays in action.
Gram will forever be remembered sitting in a rocking chair, cuddling one of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren singing Bye-O-Baby!
We all love you, Mom. May you rest in peace. We will miss you forever.
