In memory of

Basil Ernest Ley

March 14, 1932 - November 28, 2025

On November 28, 2025, we regretfully said our last goodbyes to our beloved Basil Ley. Although we knew Basil's time with us was coming to an end, it is never easy when that day arrives.

Basil began his life's journey in Sydney, NS, and after many adventures, he settled in Ontario, spending his remaining years in Ajax, ON.

Basil was a very funny guy, always ready with a good joke, and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a hard worker, having served his country during the Korean War. Basil was a firefighter and held various jobs in the trades before becoming self-employed. He was truly a jack of all trades and very knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects.

As we bid farewell, we are reminded of the bedtime story in Basil's version that he would tell the grandkids: "Now I lay me down to sleep, a bag of peanuts at my feet. If I should die before I wake, give them to my brother Jake."

We love you, Basil, until we all meet again.
