STRONACH; Barbara May nee Sigriff

At Grey Gables, Markdale on Sunday, April 2, 2017 of Toronto and Holland Centre in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late George (2007). Dear mother of Georgia of Aurora, Daniel (Susan) of Toronto and Joel (Danielle) of Holland Centre. Loving Nana of Harley and Max, and Allyson, and great-grandson James. SIster in law of Andre Bourbeau. Sister of the late Patricia Bourbeau. Aunt of Anne, Jacques, Glenn and Brad.

Barbara loved to garden and loved nature. In the 1960’s her passion for peace and quiet drew her and George to purchase a property in Holland Centre later called Belle-E-Acres. She loved the simplicity of being off the grid, swimming and the water in general, but most of all she loved her family.

Barbara had a very calming temperament and had many close friends both in Toronto and in the Holland Centre area. Many children in the Don Mills area fondly recall spending time in the Stronach’s pool and in her later years, many returned with their own children to spend time with Barbara and her hospitable nature.

After her children had grown, Barbara went to work with George at his Optician’s office and many of their customers would come to visit just to spend time with Barbara.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Grey Gables for their outstanding care during Barbara’s stay.
