We have lived in this co-op for twenty-one years, our daughter was born in this Co-Op. Barbara was very kind and friendly toward us. We will always remember her.
Barbara Mills was a larger-than-life expert and advocate on domestic violence, who worked hard with incredible intelligence and skill to save lives. Barb was an extraordinary counselor who helped so many to breathe easier in life. I know because I was one of the people she helped. To quote a friend, "Barb was a brilliant, tough, fighter and her passing is a big loss to the community." Barbara changed the world we live in for the better.
Barbara was so funny and generous in the way she shared stories from the past, partly because she had this amazing memory and could actually remember it all, but also because of the wonderful way she told a story. I could go on and on but I had better stop now.
love always,
Chris
My condolences to the family. Barbara was always there for me when I needed her for guidance and support. It was a pleasure knowing her and may she rest in peace.
I have known Barbara for over 20 years. I am a retired member of the Toronto Police Service. She taught me a lot in the field of Domestic Violence. She was a caring and compassionate person who gave her all. She lectured to both front line and specialized police officers and was well respected within the service. She will be missed and I am glad to have been able to call her my friend.
You will forever be at peace now and you have left this world a better place.
God bless you my friend.

Barb was a good soul who thought of others over herself. I have been working with her for several years on a custody and child abduction case to which we are finally getting some traction. When Barb found out that she would not be around to see this through she asked me to take over for her and ensure that everything that could be done would be done to get this child back to her mother. I assured her that i would and that she could rest knowing that I will continue this fight in her name. Go with peace Barb I've got your back on this one.
