In memory of

Babette Trapper

February 22, 1920 -  October 17, 2021

Babette (Barbara) Trapper (nee) Stenz, was born on the 22nd of February 1920 in Erlangen Bruck, a small town just North of Nürnberg, in the Bavarian region of Germany. She was the fourth daughter of Andreas Stenz and Elisabeth Egelseer.
On the 20th of September 1941 she married Wilhelm Andreas Trapper, the love of her life. The family emigrated to Canada in April 1955 living first in Montreal and later in the GTA. Babette was very active in her church at First Lutheran in Toronto and later at Epiphany Lutheran in West Hill. It gave her great joy to visit friends in local convalescent homes.
She kept a very large garden at her Pickering home, both vegetables and flowers, and was a marvellous baker. For the past 13 years Babette resided at Moll Berczy Haus, where she celebrated her 100’th birthday with friends and family, just prior to the COVID lockdown in 2020. She passed away peacefully in her retirement home on the 17th of October 2021.
She will be greatly missed by her children Marianne Scandiffio (John), Karin Berg (David), and Bill Trapper (Nadene), as well as her 8 grandchildren; John A. Scandiffio, Carolyn Code, Max Berg, Alice Berg, Stefan Berg, Grant Trapper, Tyler Trapper, and Calvin Trapper, and her two great-granddaughters Pearl Code and Zofia Sabat Berg.

“May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
