It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Aziz (Jack) Iskander Gharibo on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He passed away peacefully at the age of 81, surrounded by his family.

Aziz was the husband of Marie Gharibo, cherished father of Mark Aziz Gharibo and Nadia Wadia Gharibo, and the proud and loving grandfather of Aziz (Jack), Alexander, Mattea, and Michael Gharibo.

Born on December 3, 1943, in Jerusalem, Aziz was the beloved son of the late Iskander Hanna Gharibo and Wadia Asmar Gharibo. He is predeceased by his siblings Mary Iskander Gharibo, Laila Gharibo Houshan (late Abdo), and George Iskander Gharibo. Survived by his siblings Hanna Iskander Gharibo (Rose), Samira Ahou (Elias), Victoria Iskander Gharibo (late John), Alice Yacoub (Nazih), Afram Iskander Gharibo (Virgine), Antoinette Aho (Malki), and Linda Iskander Gharibo (Hanna).

Aziz lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and faith. After spending his early years in Jerusalem, he immigrated to Canada in 1967, where he worked tirelessly to help his parents and siblings join him in building a new life of safety, stability, and opportunity. He dedicated himself to a long and meaningful career in property management and was a steadfast supporter of his family.

Aziz will be remembered for his free spirit, honesty, and independence. He had a style all his own and lived life on his own terms. He embraced his role in helping his family adjust to their new lives in Canada, supporting them every step of the way. Whether assisting extended family in finding employment, helping them build new skills, or even preparing their income taxes, he gave generously of his time and knowledge. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his greatest pride and joy was his beautiful family.
