Arthur Noel D'Souza

Arthur Noel D’Souza, passed away early in the morning of Sunday, January 3, 2021. A beloved husband, brother, and uncle, Arthur turned 72 on Christmas Eve. He resided in North York, Ontario (Canada) where he lived with his wife Kohar Balian (Kay). Arthur is also survived by his siblings, Dr. Anthony D’Souza (Barbara G. D’Souza) of Rockford, IL; Alfred C. D’Souza (Anne D’Souza) of Beach Haven, New Jersey, Alan D’Souza (Mary Ann C. D’Souza) of Baton Rouge LA; and Dr. Anita Andersen of Wichita, KS. His nephew/nieces are Arlene Maurice, Anthony Edward D’Souza, Angela B. D’Souza, Anna Maria D’Souza and Lisa Marie Schneider. Arthur is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Anthony C. D’Souza Sr. (1975), his mother Eufemia Irene D’Souza (2015), his brother Austin Eugene D’Souza (2016), and his sister Arlene Angela (1971).

Arthur grew up in Calcutta, India. He attended Saint Xavier’s Collegiate High School where he earned the Senior Cambridge (England) General Certificate of Education.

Arthur emigrated to the United States in 1967, with his parents and siblings. They settled in Columbia, Missouri, and later, Kirksville, Missouri. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and a Masters in Business Administration (‘MBA) from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

After a stint as an Instructor at the University of Alabama in Montgomery, Alabama Arthur lived briefly in Chicago, Illinois and then emigrated to Toronto, Canada. He met his wife Kay in the Algarve, Portugal while on vacation. Arthur and Kay have spent thirty happy years together.

Arthur worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, where he excelled as a top producing salesman. He subsequently worked as an independent insurance broker, and also was involved in several business opportunities over the years.


Arthur was loved and respected by a wide range of friends he met in the course of his business and personal activities. He played the piano, and occasionally displayed his musical talents at parties and local establishments. He loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations worldwide with Kay.
