In memory of
Antonio Manuel Pereira
April 14, 1956 -
February 4, 2024
Antonio Manuel Pereira passed away on Sunday February 4th, 2024, at the age of 67, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Livramento, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal to the late João Pereira and Margarida Aguiar. Predeceased by his brothers Octavio Pereira, João Luis Pereira, Armando Pereira, and sister Laudalina Da Silva.
Antonio leaves behind his beloved wife Rosa De Lurdes Pereira, his loving daughters Diane Pereira (John Marcelissen) and Jenny Pereira (Mike Panucci), and his sister Isabel Soares. Antonio will always be lovingly remembered by his nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends as a generous man who had a love for life and a golden heart.
Although he immigrated to Canada in 1976 at the age of 19, a country he was proud to be part of, he never wavered from his strong Portuguese heritage. He was an enthusiast of many things, including music, Formula 1, UFC and soccer, his favourite team being Benfica. With his enormous love of cars, it’s no wonder why you would often find him under a vehicle or heavy machinery tinkering away at it. Antonio was a dedicated hard worker, who worked 46 years at the same Construction Company. Never one to say no to anyone, be it family, friends, or a stranger, when in need of help, no matter the time of day or distance, he would be there, always willing to help. He had an infectious smile that warmed your heart and made you feel welcomed.
The family would like to thank doctors, nurses and PSW support staff from the Credit Valley Hospital, who provided compassionate care.
