In memory of

Anthony Wallace

October 30, 1956 -  June 4, 2024

Anthony Wallace passed away peacefully at his home in his sixty-eighth year. Loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Predeceased by his mother, Hazel, father, Matthew Maurice, sister and best friend, Laura, and brother Sean. Cherished brother to Erin (Steve), nephew to Virginia, and uncle to Rachel (Charlie), Sarah (Marc), Naomi and Colin, cousin to Nancy (Larry) and special uncle to Brendan (Emma) and Jordan. Great uncle to Teddy, Matthew, Noah, and Layla.

Tony led a rich but challenging life full of music, family, and friends. Tony worked in the Toronto taxi industry for 30+ years, as a driver and after recovering from his spinal cord injury as a dispatcher for East End Taxi and then Beck Taxi. As well, Tony worked with the airline industry training staff on how to support the disabled as well as volunteering at Lyndhurst Centre for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation working with newly injured patients.

Tony had a keen interest in history in particular Canada’s military role during war and peace time as well as genealogy, politics, photography, writing and performing music with numerous original songs which he shared on You Tube. He loved the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs.

He will be remembered for his keen wit, sense of humour, and infectious smile. Tony touched many people, both family and friends, during his life and will be forever in our memories.

Celebration of life will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Funeral Centre, 375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4T 2V8 on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Doors open at 10:30 am with a Celebration of Life Service at 11 am, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, please donate to March of Dimes or Spinal Cord Injuries of Ontario.

We haven't seen eachtogether other in person for almost 25 years. In our younger days we were brothers playing football, baseball and hockey, ice and ball hockey...... It was playing ball hockey on Cavendish where I met Tony. We were 11 years old. We went everywhere together. We had an especially good time at the coottage...water skiing, swimming and hiking etc. The Benny and Alpine were two of our favourite hang outs as well as the Olympic pools and the beach in general. Forever fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Tony was one of kindest, smartest, and most wonderful person that I knew while I lived in Toronto. We kept in touch when I moved away and I can't imagine a world without him in it. I will miss him dearly.
