OBITUARY
Anne Vibeke (Vibe) de Demeter (née Beyerholm) passed away peacefully, at the Extendicare Bayview nursing home, on Saturday, August 24, 2019, in her 96th year. Although a Danish citizen, who lived most of her formative years in Copenhagen, Vibe was actually born in Genoa, Italy, on September 8, 1923. Having immigrated to Canada, in 1952, she spent many years working as a haematology lab technician, before retraining and then graduating as a registered nurse, in 1979. Beloved wife of Gábor Demeter de Szëodemeter (de Demeter) for 56 years, until his death, in 2002, loving mother of Garrick (Joan) and Dorrit and grandmother of Johanna, Vibe will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Special thanks go to Dorrit for the additional, daily medical care that she so selflessly provided, during Vibe’s declining years. Special thanks go, as well, to the doctors, nurses, PSWs and other staff members at Extendicare Bayview for all their loving kindness and care, during Vibe’s almost-eleven-year stay as a resident.
