Anna Palcic

November 28, 1919 -  November 2, 2018

Anna Palcic passed away peacefully at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on the morning of Nov. 2nd, 3 weeks prior to her 99th birthday. Born Anna Uldrian in 1919 in Raisavac, Yuguslavia (now Croatia ) the eldest of 4 Children in a farming family, she married Franz Kuhn in her late teens with whom she had one son Tony .
Near the end of WW2 she and her family along with her parents and sister were moved to Austria as Displaced Persons (refugees) as their German heritage made them target for the Russian Army and partisans. Anna’s husband Franz passed away in Austria. In 1950 they all came to Canada. On board ship, she met her second husband Stefan Palcic . They all settled in Toronto (cabbage town) and later moved to Stouffville. Her final years were spent in Collingwood (Bay Haven Retirement home). Predeceased by her parents and her husband Stefan she will be greatly missed by her son Tony (Margit),her sister Barbara and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jennifer, Christine and Petra and her great grandchildren Emily, Meaghan Hannah, Brianna, Connor, Abigail and Michaela and great-great grandchild Scarlett. Also deeply missed by nephews Eddie (Valerie),Dennis and grand niece Laura. In accordance with Anna’s wishes ,there will be no visitation held.
Private family interment at Pine Hills Cemetery on Saturday November 10th. Cremation has taken place.

Living this long should certainly be considered a privaledge but none the less grief felt by friends and family is still very real. Many wonderful memories suddenly appear and linger for a long time.
