In memory of

Andrew Wilson Silverthorne

November 19, 1975 -  September 5, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Wilson Silverthorne, on September 5th, 2024, at only 48 years of age.
Family and friends meant everything to Andrew. He was a loving husband to Julie for 10 years and lived with their three cats Morty, Eva and Loki. A loving son to Dale and Roger, son in law to Dolly and Bernie McKenna. He was an adoring brother to Tara, brother-in-law to Carolyn (Scott) and Peter (Briana). An uncle to Joseph, Benjamin, and Austin. Andrew was a loving nephew to many aunts and uncles on both the Silverthorne and McKenna sides of the family.
Andrew was born in St Catharines November 19, 1975, moving to Toronto and Montreal before moving back to Toronto. During the past two years he and Julie have lived in Michigan.
Andrew was a graduate from Lawrence Park Collegiate where he established many strong friendships which still exist today.
Andrew was a gentle giant with a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. His kindness and love, were felt by everyone, be they family, friends, or coworkers. His bear hugs were legendary.
Andrew will be greatly missed, loved everyday and will always be in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto on Sunday, September 29th from 2:00 p.m until 4:00pm. Words of Remembrance to commence at 2:45 p.m. A link to livestream the Celebration of Life will be available on his memorial page, found at www.etouch.ca.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.

Dear Dale, Tara and Roger,
No words can express the sadness I feel for your family. A parent's worse nightmare.
At these moments, I think of a picture frame that was on a desk at Rekai, it read, "our loved one has gone to those who loved him while he awaits the ones he loves", it just feels like a warm thought at a horrible moment.
Love Pat, Peter and Olivia

Andrew was a great man who added life to a room whenever he entered. He had a huge heart and a large wingspan which allowed him to give such great bear hugs just when you needed one. He would always be up to an adventure or getting into mischief with you, but no matter what ended up happening he would have your back. I will always remember him as a big teddy bear, kind, caring and someone who would do anything for a friend. He was and always will be in spirit, my best man and best friend. My deepest condolences to Julie and Roger, Dale and Tara.

I never saw him without a smile on his face! He was a perfect match for Julie. They were sweet together and will be greatly missed. May God grant peace to Julie and her family, Roger, Dale and Tara.

Dearest Roger, Dale and Tara

We are so deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Our whole family, including of course Alexander and Lesley, fondly remember Andrew in his younger wears in TMR.

Our prayer is that you can remember the joys Andrew brought to your family and all those around him.
