It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Andreas Spandithakis. Beloved husband, father, papou, uncle, brother, and dear friend to many near and far.
Andreas was born and raised in Argiroupoli, Crete on September 15, 1946. He later migrated to Canada in 1969 as a single young man.
He leaves behind is beautiful wife Sofia, who he married on June 11, 1972. Together they raised their loving children, Eustathios (Michelle), Yiorgos (Katerina), and Eleftheria (Danny).
Andreas cherished his 4 beautiful grandchildren, Andreas, Irini, Sofia, and baby Sofia.
He loved his life in Canada but never left his Cretan heritage behind. He lived by Cretan music and passion for the Cretan life in Canada.
He lived a simple life with great values as he passed on love and laughter to everyone around him.
Andreas was very hard working, ambitious and a perfectionist in his work as a painter and handyman.
He will be missed by family and friends at home and at his coffee shop, where he spent a few hours a day with his friends during his retirement years.
Family and friends will be received at St. Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church of Markham, 11323 Warden Ave., Markham on Wednesday, March 16 at 10:30 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Interment to follow in Elgin Mills Cemetery.
