In memory of

Anastasia Tzanis

April 9, 1942 -  April 15, 2017

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Anastasia Tzanis. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by her extensive family and friends. Her kindness, generosity and gentle nature touched the lives of all those who knew her.

Tasia was born in the small village of Avlona, Greece, where she spent many wonderful summers, cultivating her garden and welcoming countless guests with her bountiful hospitality.

She was the beloved wife of Elias (Louis) Tzanis, loving mother to John (Gina), Stathi (Georgina), and Peter (Annie). Adored sister of Demetra (James), John (Katerina), Mary (Jack), Leon and Kathy. Predeceased by her widely respected parents Dionysios and Hariklia Voudouris. Cherished yiayia to her 6 grandchildren: Elias, Eleni, Alexander, Lukas, Aris and Gabriel. Loved by all her many cousins, nieces, nephews, koumbari and Godchildren.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation at Eglin Mills Funeral Centre on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow at the same location.

If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family suggests they be made in Anastasia's honour to Sunnybrook Hospital, Odette Cancer Centre or Palliative Care Unit.

Our deepest condolences to the whole family for the kids of such a beautiful lady. I'll never forget running into Thea at the grocery store in Kyparissia and the absolute joy on her face in seeing us. She was a loving woman who loved bringing people together. May your memory be eternal.

Love, Freda Family
