In memory of

Amy Grace Shiga

January 2, 1935 -  December 23, 2022

We are heart broken to announce the passing of our forever loved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Amy Grace Shiga born December 28, 1934, but celebrated January 2, 1935, in Vancouver, BC. to the late Kanekichi Jack Hisaki and Yoneko Irene Hisaki. Beloved wife of the late Terry Teruji Shiga. Loved sister, of Keiko Hayakawa (the late Mikio Hayakawa) and the late Dr. Edward Hisaki (Jeanette Hisaki).
Peacefully left us on Friday December 23, 2022, at home surrounded by her daughter, Tami Shiga-Price, son in law Paul Price, grandchildren Tara Gater (Brian Gater), Brittany Mollison, Graeme Mollison and great granddaughter, Isla Gater just five days before her 88th birthday. Sadly missed by Brittany Price (Adriano Dalle Rive), Megan Price and great granddaughter, Ella Dalle Rive, also many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, as well as everyone who was fortunate to meet her.
She was our hero, a superwoman who fought, through cancers, strokes and many other illnesses, never complaining.
She had a heart of gold and ours will be broken, until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Mom’s memory to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CAShh), donations can be made online.

Amy has always been a dignified and wonderful independent woman.
She kindly reached out to us when we were confused about her first time living in a foreign country, her help was not excessive, but rather a guide and companion to help us become independent.
May she rest in peace.

Tami, Paul & families,
We were so sorry to learn of Amy's passing & extend our sincere condolences to everyone. My treasured friendship with Amy goes back to the early '70's when we worked at the University of Toronto (Dentistry). Besides our working life, Amy was part of our social group (you could refer to us as "The Four Musketeers - Marg H, Connie J, Amy & I), - keeping in touch long after retirement until distance & health issues prevented our socializing quite so much! Rest in peace Amy. You will be missed by all!
