It is with a heavy heart and immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Amalija “Tetica” Tihava on March 18, 2017 with her beloved husband, Zlatko, and family at her side.

She is dearly missed and deeply loved by her husband of 60 incredible years and is predeceased by her younger brothers Erich and Adolf who are deeply saddened by the loss of their “seko” as is the rest of her family.

Tetica, as she was affectionately known to her family and dear friends, spent many years in Winnipeg working as a seamstress and was naturally creative – some of her hobbies included needlepoint, ceramics and clay making. Prior to coming to Canada she worked in a patisserie which was especially fitting given her penchant for sweets and baked goods. Tetica was also known for her calm demeanor, elegance and style but above all, her considerable sense of humour – she possessed a laugh that was infectious and one that would fill the room with warmth and contagious laughter.

Shy of her 80th birthday by 6 months, we find some degree of consolation that at least she was able to celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary – an incredible milestone by any measure – just last month with her best friend, companion and love of her life.

A Memorial Service in honour of Amalija’s life will be held on
THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 2017 at the MEADOWVALE CEMETERY located on
7732 MAVIS ROAD, BRAMPTON L6Y 5L5

Visitation will be held from 10am - 11am; Memorial Service at 11am; Burial at 11:45am followed by a reception at 12:30pm.
