In memory of

Allan Christie Evelyn

March 30, 1935 -  January 19, 2018

Allan “Al” Christie Evelyn was born March 30, 1935 in St. Andrew, Jamaica. It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on January 19, 2018, at the age of 82. Al arrived in Canada in 1956, met Ann in 1957, his devoted and beloved wife of almost 60 years, and joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police in 1958.

After a distinguished policing career of 30+ years (Past Director and President of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Association), Al retired in 1989 and together with Ann began spending the winter months in Florida and embarking on cruises to numerous parts of the world with family and friends.

Al will be sadly missed by Ann, his four children – Cheryl, Wendy (John), Cathy and Allan Jr (Odette), eleven grandchildren – Jason, Christopher, Matthew, Michael, Bryan, Cyr, Tyler, Joshua, Meaghan, Alexandra and Noah and five great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his brothers Carl (Daphne), Deryck (Margaret) and Eon (Brenda), many nephews and nieces, and his dear cousin Jean (Kurt).

A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place on February 10, 2018 at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre in Richmond Hill at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of Al to the Alzheimer Society of Canada ( www.alzheimer.ca ).

Al was a kind gentleman and always made me feel very much part of the family. I will not soon forget his warmth. May he Rest In Peace knowing that he was very well loved by anyone who was blessed to have met him. He will not soon be forgotten. My prayers are with you, Al. God bless.

My condolences to Ann, and family.

I am shocked to hear about Al's passing. I knew Al and his brother Carl when we were all in our teens. I have only ever seen Al perhaps twice since being in Canada, but I keep close contact with his brother Carl.

To Al's widow and family I feel your pain.
