In memory of

Alice Eccleston

January 12, 1929 -  January 27, 2017

Alice Eccleston passed away peacefully January 27, 2017 at the age of 88 at her home in Toronto. Alice was born in Liverpool, England to Thomas and Katherine Bolger on January 12, 1929 into the Great Depression. Her early childhood was influenced by the break out of war in Europe and the eventual bombing of Liverpool and her evacuation to Wales. Separated from her parents Alice lived with her Grandmother and was required to leave school at the age of 14 to work in munitions production. Together with her then husband Ken Sr. (deceased) and first born Tommy, Alice arrived at Montreal, Canada in 1955 to make a home in the new world. Eventually moving to Toronto, Alice capably raised three sons, Thomas (deceased), Ken Jr. and Tony (deceased). Alice suffered a fate no Mother should have to endure, the loss of two of her sons. With all the tragedy in her life, and with a stiff upper lip, Alice endured with the greatest of dignity. Alice is predeceased by her Mom and Dad, her brother John, her sister Margaret and her sons Tom and Tony. Alice will be dearly missed by her sisters May, Cathleen and Eileen and her brother Tommy, son Ken, daughter in law Karin and grandchildren Kaitlyn, Taylor and Olivia. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday February 2nd at 1:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, 24 Cheritan Ave, Toronto (Yonge and Lawrence), followed by a reception at 3 St. Aubyn’s Crescent, Toronto. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that a donation be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada
