Alexander Todd Shannon
September 16, 1934 - March 29, 2016
After a month of little setbacks after heart surgery, sad news for family and friends of Todd Sr. He passed quietly surrounded by his loving family who reminisced old family memories together and played his favorite bag pipe tunes on Tuesday March 29, 2016. Pre-deceased by his first love Jeanette (nee McLennan) now finally together again for eternity. Devoted Father of Todd , Kim and Robert Shannon. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family, sister Susan, cousins, nieces, especially Dianne, nephews and their extended families and friend Edie. Todd unconditionally loved his beautiful grandchildren Cailin, Ilinca, Veronica, Claire and Bianca. Todd, the 1972 founder of the Mississauga Scuba Club, last dives were in January in Cozumel Mexico with them. A pioneer R.C.A.F. scuba instructor (Trenton Flying Frogmen) he completed Canada’s first scuba instructor course in 1963 at Hart House U of T with N.A.U.I. he trained and inspired thousands of scuba divers to the then new sport safely. Streetsville Pipe Band filled his life with good friends and travel. As a private pilot and member of the York Soaring Club, he lived his life to the fullest.
