We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Alex at age 76, after an unexpected and very short battle with cancer. He was lovingly cared for by his family during his last days and surrounded by loved ones as he died peacefully in his sleep.

The memory of Alex will be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Patty, their children, Elaine (Howard Quinn), Kevin (Yulia Zhernovaya) and Allan (Christina Kim), and grandchildren Liam, Landan and Ashton. He is survived by his siblings Peter, David, Andrew and Maria and predeceased by his sister Cindy and parents Sin Siu Man and Wong Po Ying.

Alex lived life to its fullest. When not travelling the world with Patty and their friends, he could often be found on the dancefloor at many social parties or on the golf green with his Tuesday golf buddies. Alex and Patty also discovered a love for hiking and would spend many weekends with friends on hiking adventures around the GTA.

His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandchildren. Generous in his time and unconditional with his love, Alex nurtured special relationships and was always there to hold their hands, listen to funny stories or spoil them with treats. His spirit will continue to watch over them as they grow up.

Thank you to the incredible medical team at North York General Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care during the last few weeks of Alex’s life.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, M2N 5Z5. Visitation from 12:30 – 1:30pm with service to follow at 1:30pm.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held at Lobster Port Restaurant, 8432 Leslie St, Thornhill, L3T 7M6 starting at 4pm. Please RSVP to Maria Chung: mariasychung@gmail.com
