In memory of

Alec Ushalkas

February 10, 1930 -  September 10, 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Alec Ushalkas, who left us peacefully on September 10, 2025, in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 95.

Born on February 10, 1930, in Florina, Greece, Alec built a life rooted in devotion to family, hard work, and generosity of spirit. He was a proud entrepreneur and restaurateur whose determination and vision provided both opportunity and comfort to those around him.

Alec was the beloved husband of Sophie, cherished father of Kay (Michael) and Rosemarie (John), and adored grandfather to Geoffrey (Sarah), Mikey, Alexis, Jonathon, and Alexander. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Emerson and MacArthur, who brought him immense pride and delight.

Known by all for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love, Alec touched countless lives. He carried himself with warmth and humility, and to know him was to feel cared for. Family was always at the center of his world, and he found joy in gathering, sharing, and nurturing those he loved most. Outside of work and family, Alec tended with pride to his garden—his favorite sanctuary.

He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but more importantly for the love he gave so freely, his enduring kindness, and the legacy of family he leaves behind.
