When someone passes, a flood of memories come to the surface and it can feel overwhelming on how best to encapsulate this person who meant something to you. As I searched my house for albums and lamented the amount of photos lost, there's two images that longer longer than most.

One was Uncle Allan's leather jacket. He got it when I was relatively young and I have this memory of him strutting around in it rather pleased with how he looked in it.
The other is him bringing wine to family gatherings. Whether we would meet in a restaurant for a special occasion or at someone's house, he had this huge warm smile and lovely demeanor as he shared the wine with others.
I'll share more memories later, but these two are the ones that make me smile even in the middle of the night just thinking of him.

Although I only met Alan several times, I really enjoyed his warm personality and his caring. Alan will be greatly missed.
