Alan Chapple

CHAPPLE, Alan
February 18, 1940 - July 20, 2016

On July 20, 2016 in his 77th year, Alan passed away peacefully at the home of his son concluding a defiant struggle with cancer. His optimism never faded.

Alan, son of Joy and the late Cyril Chapple; dearly loved father of Cyril, Kailan, Brendan, Garreth, Sarah (Aaron Harvey) and Bruce (Leslie McCallum); proud grandfather of Molly Harvey and Devin and Spencer Chapple; cherished brother of Debra Bartley (nee Chapple) (Ronald); loving uncle of Matthew Bartley, Ron Bartley and Janice Davidson (nee Bartley) (Sean Davidson); great uncle of Keira and Conor Davidson and Kendra and Emma Bartley.

Alan was born in Bristol, England and moved to Canada at the age of 13. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Civil Engineering Degree and a Master of Business Administration.

He loved his work which included real estate development, film financing, finance, construction management, commercializing environmental technologies, and others. He was grateful for Karen Doucette's support over 30+ years. He was most proud of completing the Metro Toronto Zoo as project manager.
He was a passionate golfer.

Alan will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by the family he loved so much, Lee Ann Chapple, Pamela Hardie and his many friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Centre in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto on Thursday, July 28, 2016 commencing at 1 p.m..
Thank you to Sunnybrook and St. Michael’s Hospitals, the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care and the St. Elizabeth organization, especially Bummi.
In lieu of flowers, donations to any one of these organizations or a charity of your choice would be much appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.etouch.ca.
