In memory of

Agnes Telford

June 17, 1923 -  April 6, 2019

Peacefully on April 6th, 2019 at Niagara General Hospital in her 96th year. Loving wife of William for 62 years. Cherished mother of Rhonda (Victor) and Sandra (Chris). Loving sister to Ruby (Edwin), both deceased, and Doris (Carl). Greatly missed by her nephews Robert and David, extended family and friends. Her greatest joys were time spent with family, friends and her cats.

Agnes was born in Jamaica in 1923 and came to Canada in 1952. We always used to joke with her as to why you would leave such a warm, beautiful Caribbean island to come to a country with such cold winters. But she loved Canada and never regretted her decision. She made many friends, enjoyed working at the bank, met her husband, had a family and never looked back. She was a wonderful mother and wife and grandmother to all our furry friends, past and present, Mickey, Fuzz, Sapphire, Oscar, Rumball, Fudgie, Mr. Bumbles and of course Savannah, who watched over her until the very end. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, gardening and walking and would never say no to a rum and coke or a coffee with her good friend Panama Jack. She always had a smile for you and something nice to say. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery and Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Road (north of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Visitation 1 p.m., service and interment 2 p.m., reception 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or an animal charity of your choice.

Although I didn't have the good fortune of meeting Ms. Telford, I knew her through my daughter who worked with her daughter. It's always sad when someone passes away but the memories they leave behind keep her presence close to all who knew and loved her.
I shall keep all of you in my prayers so that you might get through this very difficult time. Cherish the many wonderful memories you have built up over the years,
May God give you strength.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. May you take comfort in knowing your Mom is now at peace, and I'm sure she will always be with you in spirit. May God give you all strength and guidance as you deal with your loss.
